Upcoming WEEK!
Good Evening team,
This week we will be seeing ourselves a lot and will be needing that team work mentality.
1) Monday, Looking forward to a meet with Pines Lake tonight.
*Hopefully throughout the week we can get you the ribbons from Thursday and Today.
2)Wednesday will be tough team from Lake Mohawk (Sparta) at Home.
*Looking forward to the challenge. (Team Picture Moment)
3)Thursday, we have opted to offer two practices.
*8:30-9:30 (Novice and Presenior) and 9:30-10:30 (Presenior and Senior)
I know that looks confusing but essentially were only taking 1/3 of the team at night to a Coaches Choice (Declare if your coming) meet at Fayson Lakes. We will run 2 practices and the Presenior group can come to 8:30am or 9:30am.
4)Saturday, we are hosting the B Invitational and essentially it gives kids who have a slower time to shine. Fast times/swimmers can still compete but they will swim in the open events. We will have 6 and under events so please please please plan on attending and pitching in for this Home Invitational. (Meet Announcement Attached)
5) 7/28, Monday is the Ramapo Championships. We really need to know if you are trying to attend because we need to select/submit a team. Declare your intention please.
Below is more info on the upcoming meets if you have not looked it over yet!
Please read below, as our forthcoming Invitationals and Championships will be discussed.
Coaches Choice (Thursday, July 24th)
This is a team scored event. Each team is allowed one entry in each event and a relay. The Coaching staff will choose the team and assign swimmers to events. All swimmers are eligible and may swim one individual event and one relay. Unfortunately per age and gender we are only allowed to select 4 swimmers. So let’s first see who is available for this fast fun-filled night!
B Invitational (Saturday, July 26th)
All swimmers are eligible and may choose as many events as they qualify for. For those who meet the "B Time" compete against kids their speed. For events where a swimmer has a time equal to or faster than the A qualifying time they must enter the equivalent open event that does not score and is not eligible for awards. However, individuals who do swim in an open event have the ability to improve on their seed time. Lastly, there is a 6 and under event.
Ramapo Championships (Monday, July 28th)
We will do our best to get everyone a race at the Ramapo Championship (Monday 7/28/25) if they are available and eligible.
The Ramapo Championship meet is for swimmers who have swam in two Ramapo (Monday) League meets. There is a small entrance fee for spectators, but parents who officiate and select swimmers do not have to pay an entrance fee.
We do our best to put together the fastest relay teams. The meet is divided into two sessions. We are allowed two entries per event for an age group and a relay team. Decisions are made based on time achieved, and participation via practice and swim meets. If your child is in an age group with numerous kids, I still encourage you to be available because you never know who will be available on the 7/29/24 Ramapo Championship.
The timeline for The Ramapo Championships on 7/28/25 is:
3:45pm- Gates open
4:30pm-4:50pm- Session 1 Warm Ups
Banner Carries will be announced closer to the meet.
6:20pm-6:40pm- Session 2 Warm Ups
6:30 pm-Second session starts. Start time will be dependent on when the first session is finished.
The 10 and Unders are 25's and swim first. (Approx 4:00pm to 7:00pm)
The 11 and Ups are 50's and swim second. (Approx 6:00pm to 8:30pm)
At this meet, you can achieve ribbons and medals.
A Championships at Highland Lakes (Saturday, August 9th)
All swimmers who have swam at least 2 Lakeland Swim Conference meets are eligible (achieved the appropriate cut time) may choose 2 individual events and be placed in a relay (14&Under) or 3 events and 1 relay (15&Over). Swimmers must have a time equal to or faster than the A qualifying time.
